Each year the MBA Games partners with a charity that exemplifies the core values of the theme and makes meaningful impact within its community. We are excited to announce that this years MBA Games charity partner is Empowerment Squared.
Empowerment Squared empowers youth to realize their potential and achieve their dreams through sport, education and mentorship. As a part of the partnership, all the competing teams and members raise money and awareness for the charity to allow them to continue to give back and expand beyond what they currently offer.
In order to account for different team sizes, we are setting each team goal based on the number of people attending the 2020 MBA Games (including coaches). We challenge every team member to raise at least $100.00. This year our fundraising goal is $50,000.

Teams will have the ability to showcase their university, a local charity or business, how they show team spirit and how they embody the theme ‘Business with a purpose’ through the creation of a video. All teams must showcase a local business or charity as the focus of their video and in addition can use their creativity to showcase other topics surrounding their university, the team or how they embody the theme in a meaningful way.
The video should incorporate at least 8 team members and be 45-60 seconds in length. Videos should be submitted to the MBA Games Team no later than Friday, December 6th. Similar to the video, teams will be selected via audience vote.
Each team will be responsible for choreographing a dance to the music of their choice. The dance should be no longer than 3-minutes in length and teams are encouraged to include all members of the team in their dance. Music selection should be submitted to the MBA Games Teams by early December (Details around submission will be released later). The teams with the top performances will be selected through an audience vote.
Charity Event - Rube Goldberg Machine
The MBA students will work with the Empowerment Squared students to build a Rube Goldberg machine. Rube Goldberg machines are intentionally designed to perform a simple task in an indirect and over complicated fashion.
Each team of 6-8 MBA students will be paired with 1-2 Empowerment Squared students for the activity. Mentors from E2 as well as McMaster MBA volunteers will be there to support the activity. MBA students will receive information and pointers on how to best work with and support the students.
